Trust in Him – not Trust against HIM!

• When I limit my faith – I limit my Jesus – as a result I limit my miracles

• He couldn’t stretch because I cannot stretch !!! – Jesus cannot stretch unless I make Him stretch

• Its not God who limits me – but I who limit God

• God is an unlimited God – to see how much is He unlimited – is determined by my faith

Reasons for limiting Jesus and Loosing Miracles :

• Questioning the ability of Jesus

• Deeply offending Him / Taking offence at Him – in His teachings and by who He is!!

• Refusing to believe in Him

• Unbelief

• Repelling Him – His power/His Vision..

• Hindering from acknowledging His authority

• Lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus

• Repulsing by Him

• Falling into sin

• Upset by Him

• Turning against Him

• Having a problem to accept Him/what He says

• Cutting Him down

• Hostile difference in Him

When I limit my faith in Him :

• I limit Jesus Himself

• I will not receive as many miracles /good things He has in store for me

• I limit the many works of His power

I need to always Believe :

• In Him that He can do what He told He would do

• In His unlimited power

• In His miraculous power

• In His word

Takeaways:

• When I Reject Him – I reject all my good things

• When I place Him /count Him as one among others – I loose to see the magnificence of Jesus

• When I turn against Jesus – I am turning against /away from destiny !!!

• He cannot work in me unless I let Him work

• I need to trust in Him not trust against Him

Prayer 🙏🏻

Bible references:

He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:54-58‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Is not this the carpenter’s Son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And do not all His sisters live here among us? Where then did this Man get all this? And they took offense at Him [they were repelled and hindered from acknowledging His authority, and caused to stumble]. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house. And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief (their lack of faith in the divine mission of Jesus).”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:55-58‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“They were repulsed by him and fell into sin. But Jesus said to them, “Prophets are honored everywhere except in their own hometowns and in their own households.” He was unable to do many miracles there because of their disbelief.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:57-58‬ ‭CEB‬‬

“So they had a problem accepting him. But Jesus said to them, “People everywhere give honor to a prophet, but in his own town or in his own home a prophet does not get any honor.” Jesus did not do many miracles there, because the people did not believe in him.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:57-58‬ ‭ERV‬‬

“When Jesus finished telling these stories, he left there, returned to his hometown, and gave a lecture in the meetinghouse. He made a real hit, impressing everyone. “We had no idea he was this good!” they said. “How did he get so wise, get such ability?” But in the next breath they were cutting him down: “We’ve known him since he was a kid; he’s the carpenter’s son. We know his mother, Mary. We know his brothers James and Joseph, Simon and Judas. All his sisters live here. Who does he think he is?” They got their noses all out of joint.

But Jesus said, “A prophet is taken for granted in his hometown and his family.” He didn’t do many miracles there because of their hostile indifference.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:53-58‬ ‭MSG‬‬
