“rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
I Peter 3:4 NKJV
- Jesus is gentle – I have to be gentle .
Questions that comes to my mind as I ponder on this verse , particularly this word “ quite spirit “ are :
- Do I leave my people – my family around me chaos by always trying to win every argument that comes way.
- Do I always make sure that I end the comment or finish off the argument with my last comment so I can see my spouse Just leaves in silence ?
- Does my presence bring quietness to the atmosphere around or puts the atmosphere around into a chaos ?
Quiet spirit is contagious. There is a thing called holy beauty. Holy beauty is nothing but the beauty that’s residing inside every one of you. The Bible clearly calls the attributes of this inside beauty as “ gentleness “ and “quite spirit”. Like we dress ourselves with all beautiful things making sure we look outside , we will have to dress ourselves our inner man, inner self with gentleness and quite spirit .
Does this inner beauty matters ? Yes – this inner disposition is what God is interested in. He delights in it. Because that’s what He is and He sees. He is inside out God – He expects us as His children to be inside out children .
Let’s us clothe ourselves today with this unfading charm of quite and gentle spirit which is very precious to God.
Prayer
Father in Jesus name help me to maintain a quote and gentle spirit all the time. In Jesus name amen
